Mt. Rose Improves First Timer Area Adds Progression Terrain Park
Lake Tahoe, NV: Summer improvements to Tahoes Highest Base Resort will include a mix of minor works as we prepare for our big project for the coming season(s) The New Slide Lodge. Embellishments to our First Timer area will include the relocation as well as an extension of the Flying Jenny Conveyor Lift by 100 to give it a stellar 430 of gentle uphill travel. The surface lift will move to the east side of the Show-off run too allow for the maximum learning on this gentle slope. Bringing snowmaking to this area is also planned for the off season to ensure operation of this area from the earliest part of the winter.
Terrain Park expansion will grow w/ the introduction of a progression park area planned for the right side of the upper section of the Ponderosa trail above the main lodge. Designed to introduce park style elements to interested skier & riders, low level boxes and other user friendly features are planned for this 2008/09 park.
Continued willow thinning and glade work will take place in both the Chutes and Wild Card Bowl. Selective glading in Wild Card includes the removal of snags, stumps and dead wood thus creating improved lines in this epic bowl, which does provide some of the grandest views of Lake Tahoe
